Print Sizing | Mt Shasta Portrait and Wedding Photographer

Not everyone knows this, but the sizes that prints are available in don’t always use the same ratios that cameras capture pictures in.  When you take your prints to Walmart, you could be losing precious space in your photograph.  Need a visual?  Here’s a standard photo showing different sizes and how they will affect cropping.

Now, what can you do to save precious space in your photos?  Have a professional help you get them printed.
Sometimes you’ll want a photo to fit a specific frame you already own.  Sometimes it will be a matter of personal taste.  However, having a photographer who is skilled in the different aspect ratios of photos and knows how to set things like DPI so that your pictures print perfectly, will save you a lot of time, headache and money lost to printing labs.
A photographer can show you print samples from your photo shoot side by side so you can choose the size you want.  Example:
10x812x8
Which one do you prefer?
