What Happened to Summer?

Living in far Northern California at the base of Mt. Shasta means interesting things happen with the weather. For one, summer was really short. It snowed a foot or more at our house circa-Easter. Then it snowed at our wedding on June 19th (although I will concede that we got married at the Ski Park Lodge at 5500 feet). Snow, Snow Snow!

Look at my poor Wrangler. Okay, well not poor, the wrangler likes snow.

I like that the Wrangler supersedes shoveling, since it will drive over tall snow berms left by the plow. There was that one time I got stuck… Hopefully my Mr. has forgotten about that, it took weeks to live it down.

So, summer finally came in the true sense. The weather got hot. We went camping and to the lake and blasted the A/C. It was sort of nice. Then before the end of August, it started raining and getting cold again. Shortest. Summer. Ever. It snowed yesterday (it snows every year on my birthday), and I have to wonder where summer went.

At least Mt. Shasta looks pretty.
