Guest Post at MCP Actions

If you’ve been paying attention to my 365 project lately, you may have noticed a lot of interesting camera phone shots in there. I recently acquired an HTC Incredible, and I’ve enjoyed playing with different apps. In fact, I wrote a whole blog post about it for MCP Actions! Please go take a look at the post and other content on the blog as well. MCP Actions is a great source for photographers, and these Android apps are fun for everyone.

PS. If you've wandered here from the MCP Actions Blog - please take a look at the section of my blog called "Outside the Frame," which is written specifically for photographers!

Siskiyou Bridal Faire

I was a vendor at the Siskiyou Wedding Faire a couple weekends ago, I had a blast and wrote about it on my old blog – so I thought I’d move it over here for you to read about.

I did my booth in pink, because I love pink.

There were a bunch of other great vendors there.

I had a catering company on my right.

They had the most fabulous water.  I will always throw fruit in my water from this day forward.  Yummy.

On my left was a DJ.  He was awesome, and I managed to suck him into various Weed Arts endeavors and other fabulous things.  I wish I hired him for my wedding.

There were brides.  All kinds of brides.  With moms, sisters, friends, aunts.  With wedding dates and venues and ideas.  Oh, how fun it is to be a bride and plan, plan, plan.  I loved it, but you couldn’t pay me to get married again.  I’ll work other people’s weddings, but after surviving my own, I’m good on being the girl in the white dress…

There were also kids.  Adorable kids.  Hello, cowboy.

Pretty little girls in dresses.

Girls love dresses.  It’s a fact.

Okay, well, it’s my opinion, but I think girls should love dresses.

I can’t wait to see these brides and be part of their day!  Looking forward to wedding season.

Preview–Hot Winter Night in Weed

One of my favorite things to do is event photography (this includes weddings).  There is something fun about running around and catching people being their natural beautiful selves.  There is something so organic and beautiful about people when they don’t know they’re being photographed.  You get an idea of who they are.

This past weekend, I did the event photography for Hot Winter Night in Weed.  I had so much fun, and one of my photos was even featured in the Weed Press.  I’m posting a preview here, but for the full gallery, please visit www.facebook.com/klsphoto.

First off, the image above is one of my favorites.  It shows so well the style I attempt to achieve.  Catching a sweet and priceless moment between two of my friends who just started dating.  Can’t you feel the love?

This photo is of friend and musician, Felix.  He puts his heart and soul into his music and I love this image because it shows that a little bit.

Also, he has wonderful teeth.

Hope you enjoyed that, remember to head to Facebook for the full gallery.

Featured Print

While I’m in the process of setting up the blog (and sometimes occasionally when I feel like it), I’ll feature one of my favorite prints here.

I always love square cropped photos.  It’s the medium format film shooter in me.
